Hi one and all,

If no one has told you yet Christmas and the end of 2007 are just around the corner. I’m hoping it’s a green Xmas for me as I’ve started collecting 40K Orks, Waaaaagh!

This year has gone by very well for us, we did our first Warhammer Fantasy tournament which went really well and we had a good turnout for our continuing 40K tournaments. We also ran our first Apocalypse Battle day just last month which was a blast (I got to use my Thunderhawk properly for the first time... death from above!).

We’d just like to thank the guys that entered our events this year and we hope you all enjoyed yourselves. We’d also like to thank the Brighton Warlords for their support and Nikki, Tony and the staff at the King & Queen pub in Brighton for their continuing support too. It’s a great venue and any of you that haven’t been along try and make some of our dates next year, it’s a great day out (see the list of dates on the events page).

We expect places to go very quickly next year as we’ll be advertising in White Dwarf, so I suggest you book your places as soon as possible. We will be limiting our events to 18 players as this allows for enough room to play and move around with comfort. We’ll also be putting our entry fees up to £6 (from £5) for our Tournaments and £2.50 (from £2) for the Apocalypse day (per person).

If any of you have any comments on the way we’ve been running our event or have suggestions on what you’d like to see then please get in touch with us, we are always trying to make the days more enjoyable for all.

As some of you may have noticed we are updating the website. It’s taking some time as Matt is working his socks off at the mo and we are slowly adding bits so please check out the site at regular intervals. Matt’s also got heavily back into Warhammer Fantasy this year with Orcs and Goblins, and High Elves. He’s also amassed a large collection of Fantasy terrain.

Alex has a lot on his plate as well, he’s continued to build up his enormous Eldar and Tau forces this year and has a little bundle of fun turning up early next year and both he and his wife will be deep in nappies. We are very happy for them both and have already told him that Monday night is still gaming night for us so to put his foot down as softly as possible (not to wake the baby).

Martyn has been very happy with the re-release of his beloved Dark Angels which he is in the process of building ready for me to paint. He continues to play with the Dark Eldar and is interested in building a Dark Elf Warhammer army. Notice the theme. A very Dark year for him next year.

As for Jon, he is in the process of finishing off his Vraks Renegade Militia Army and finishing building the last few units of his Skaven Army. Jon is hoping that the Space Wolf 2008 release rumours are true as he has been holding off from building up his Space Wolves this year. Until then he plans on rounding out his Imperial Guard Company with an extra tank, another Guard infantry Platoon and a heavy weapon platoon….and who knows maybe a Baneblade to keep his Stormblade from getting lonely. Oh and Tau….still needs to build the Tau Battle force he bought when they were re-released (he recently found it in the loft).

And as for me, my Eldar are finished (now in the gallery), I set myself a limit of one case (large with extra layers) and failed as it took two!! My Imperial Fists are finished. 10,000 points is enough (just?) My Imperial Guard and Chaos will be added to over time. My Sisters of Battle will wait for the new range, so will gather dust for a few years. But as I’ve mentioned before the Orks I’ve started building up will match or beat the size of my Marine force. I’ve also painted 9 armies for others this year and lots of other smaller units.

A plea, if anyone has any spare 40K Ork bitz they don’t want I’m in the Market for adding to my conversion bitz box, just drop me a line, ta. On a similar note if ever you are stuck for a certain part just drop me a line and I’ll ask the group.

We’ve also amassed a lot of Aeronautica but haven’t had many games although we love the system just been playing a lot of 40K and Fantasy. We’ve run through a 1000 point 40K league, some tweaking is needed but as soon as we’ve got the rules right we’ll put them on the website for all to use.

Well it just leaves me to say we all hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, don’t forget to mark down those dates for next year and if you need to order anything from us for Xmas please let me know soon.

All the best
Paul
